The TIS Tigers Golf Team came away satisfied with their accomplishments, but still hungry for more competition, after competing in the 3rd Annual Shekou International School Invitational ACAMIS Golf Tournament at challenging Mission Hills Golf Club.
The truly exciting part of the tournament was that the Tigers were able to finish THIRD in the Team category, which is the top three player’s scores on each team added together! Over two days of tough golfing at ‘the world’s largest golf facility’, the Tigers have some new found respect from the International School golfing world.
Competing against 60 other golfers, mainly secondary students, Michael Zhou (grade 8 ) shot rounds of 77 and 77 to finish in 8th place. Kenny Chen (grade 7) carded an 83 and a blistering 73 to finish 9th, and Hendrik Urm (grade 9) shot two rounds of 80 to finish in 12th.
Congratulations to the three boys!
The TIS Golf Team will start up again in the Spring, so watch for information and come and join us on the golf course! See Mr. Poole or Ms. Kuipers for more details.
